There's a VIP in our Family!

Last week Matt was the VIP in his kindergarten class. Something he quite enjoyed. Over the weekend he was able to take the class "Buddy" home and play with him and draw a picture about it. Matt decided to take pictures of Buddy. I introduced him to the tri-pod and he's been asking for one for Christmas ever since. He had a lot of fun taking pictures of Buddy in interesting places. This one is of Buddy on the barbecuer.

We took a poster that had pictures of Matt and all the things he likes to do on it. It was fun for me to remember what a silly boy he is and always has been. I had also forgotten that since he was about 18 months old-all his pictures look the same, the only age progression is in body size. He's always had a little grown up face. My mom and I were laughing about that, because my brother, Rick, was the same way. Its pretty cute.
We ended VIP week with a visit to Matt's class to show some of his favorite toys (ie., a Snuggie, locks, keys, broken blackberry, stuffed animals, etc.). We read a favorite story, "Llama, llama, red pajama". Which is a fun little story that fits Matt well. We ended with a bit of information about Matt's Dad's job where we passed around a hard drive that was taken apart. The kids, and Matt, loved it. It was fun to take a few minutes and talk about Matt.
My favorite part was at the end when the class was able to ask Matt questions about himself. One little boy said, "Who's your favorite friend?" To which Matt replied, "You, duh!" This was a new friend Matt has made since he's been at his new school.
A little story that happened this week with this friend: Matt told me he couldn't go play at his new friend's house because his mom smokes. He told me his friend smokes sometimes, too. Then he told me that he told his friend he shouldn't do that anymore and made him promise not to do it again. His friend told him he wouldn't and everyday they check with each other to make sure neither of them have smoked. I was touched and grateful to hear of my son's ability to stand up for what is right all on his own, and encourage a friend to do the same. Yes, Matt is a Very Important Person. We sure love him!

Diaper Bonnets

I was trying to chase Keifer down for a diaper change when I put the diaper on his head in an attempt to change screams to giggles. My mom decided to take a picture of our little pioneer-looking boy. He was really funny this day because he began playing with a purple doll at my mom's house and he wouldn't let it go. He had to take it home for a couple days until I sneaked it back to grandma's house. That little doll was sure loved while she was with Kiefer-he packed her everywhere. We might not take so many pictures of him looking like a little girl if he didn't look so pretty when we were playing with him. But make no mistake, he's all boy!

The White Ghost

Every few days we get a visit from "The White Ghost". He makes a very big mess every time he visits. Everywhere he goes he leaves a layer of white dust on EVERYTHING! If we didn't love this ghost, and if he weren't working so hard, we might send him away.

Pretty Hats, Pretty Boys..hee hee

My mom had some hats that were used as center-pieces for a Relief Society dinner. I thought it would be funny to put them on the boys. They were pretty cute and Keifer loved dressing up for a few minutes. Mom took a few pictures and now we have a cute memory.

I just helped my mom load pictures on her new computer and I found some I didn't have that were fun. This is a picture from the day Josh was baptized. I thought it was a good picture of the two of them together.
